He is a former member of the Partnership Fund Board for the Ministry for Youth Development, investing in youth development opportunities across Aotearoa.

In 2020 Kii was a finalist for Young Wellingtonian of the Year Award for his work as a deputy registrar at the Ministry of Justice and co-founder/director of Mapmo, providing a platform that removes the barriers around the mental health conversation. He has also been awarded the 2016 Minister for Youth’s International Leadership Award, the largest accolade he has received for his work.
