Vivian Chandra

Educator and facilitator, passionate about diversity and inclusion, digital equity, and all things tech.

Vivian Chandra is passionate about all things tech, with a laser focus on diversity and inclusion to make Aotearoa a better place to be.

She aligns her work with her own personal values. Currently, she works in the education sector, teaching tamariki and rangatahi how great tech can be and how they can use it to influence their life.

In her day job, Vivian is an accredited PLD facilitator with the Ministry of Education. She leads a team at the Pam Fergusson Charitable Trust. Together, they demystify digital technology for kaiako (teachers) in Aotearoa to enable them to influence the next generation of kiwis to become creators, not just users.

In one of her many side gigs, Vivian works with other tech peeps at AllySkills Aotearoa NZ to bring JEDI* (Justice, equity, diversity and inclusion) skills to corporate Aotearoa.

In addition to her work in the tech space, Vivian is an accredited personal safety trainer with Kia Haumaru (a feminist, Te Tiriti-based organisation) and a black belt at Seido Karate. She facilitates workshops to empower people to exude confidence as they walk through the world.

She is currently a PhD student at Waipapa Taumata Rau (University of Auckland), researching the effectiveness of Relationship and Sex Education on rangatahi boys.
